Chapel at BCS

Today, I surprised Jacob and went to chapel with him. He was so excited and surprised to see me there. He came right over to me and sat down with GIANT SMILE. I asked him if he was glad to see me and he said "YES'. As I was sitting there, I put my arm on the back of his chair and had my arm around him. He looked up at me with a strange look so I asked him if this was okay and he said " NO MOM"...so I put my arm down and asked him if I could give him a big kiss knowing my answer would be no again. :( It's wild how quick things change as our little ones grow up....I remember in Kindergarten Jacob would sit in my lap at chapel.... then in the first grade he sat next to me holding my hand and you know about the second grade. My sweet little man is growing way too fast.

Benjamin in Cuba

Up ALL Night

Benjamin has to be getting his baby molars in...because last night he was up all night. Crying, Diarrhea, talking, singing, sitting up, tossing and turning. I have not had a night like this since he was months old. But during the night I was reminded of the cute, sweet little things that he does right now.

So here's few.........he says mommommom, dada, jacob, he said "oh no" and holds his head in his hand, he thinking he can walk...he starts taking off towards you walking without any warning....so be ready to catch him. He love to sing "Jesus loves me" and a new song I created for him...it goes like this... Sing, Sing, Sing a song for me and you. He loves the spanish song about how Jonah not listening to God's word. (he does the motions) He loves to clap his little hands...even last night in the wee hours of the night. I have to say even at that hour...it made me smile. Last but not least, when we pick him up at school...he squeals and rushes to where we are then turns to the teacher and starts mumbling with a giant smile on his face. I hope that I never forget the look on his face...it's PRICELESS!!

Walk, Walk, Walk

I think we are days from Benjamin walking. Last night he would take off towards us from the couch and this morning Jon was getting Jacob's shoes tied and Benjamin was standing next to the both of them on the couch and he took off towards Jon. HOW EXCITING!!!

Second Grade 2009 Ms. Patton

Jacob started the Second Grade Today

Wow....Second Grade already!!!!
Jacob looked so cute and big this morning walking into his second grade class. He was excited. He sits next to Hannah Teague and on the other side of her is his best friend Cole Thompson. I think I was the only mom a little emotional. All the other mom's were ready for the kids to start school...They are mostly stay at home mom's so they probably need the break. I was just sad because he's growing up so fast. I told him I would pick him up and take him somewhere special. Last year, I took him to marble slab, so I'll make that a tradition after the first day of school.

Ok remember the Euro incident before our trip? Well the day we were leaving my aunts needed to exchange some more money...so they went to the money exchange place at our terminal and low and behold the same lady was there...but this time she knew that they we going to Cuba and she refused to exchange there money. How she figured it out??? Don't know!!! She needs to change her profession and be a detective. Hopefully she got a raise for her good work.

Jacob's vacation hairstyle

Ok....Jacob has a fun new hairstyle for the trip. When we come home he will have to cut it for school.

Our trip is finally here

I can't believe it...the day is finally here and we are going to Cuba. The shuttle picks us up at 4 am and our flight leaves at 7am to Mexico City. From Mexico City we get our bags, change planes and fly into Cuba. WOW!! I am emotional thinking about it. I am packed and finally ready. I am going to make myself write down something everyday about what I did on the trip so I can blog when I get back. If I can blog there....I will. I want to remember everything, everyone and the emotions I felt. Jon and Jacob are really excited too. They can't wait to swim in that beautiful water. Jacob can't wait to meet my family and that means a lot to me. Benjamin is going with the flow...he's to young to understand. Well got to go for now....

American Money to Euro

Well we found out yesterday that we need to take Euros instead of American money to Cuba. Because Cuba charges you 20 for every dollar you change into cuban pesos.

My aunt Lili called me and explained that we can get the Euros at the airport...but we need to go today...because it takes the bank 4 business to get them in and we leave next week.

I called and talked to a lady there at the money place and told her that we would be in today to exchange our money. She ask how much total.... I said somewhere between 12000. to 18000...she said I'll get all the money here and I will call you if there is a problem. She called 20 minutes later and asked me where I was going? ( my aunt Damaris called up there the day before and told them that we were going to Cuba and we need to exchange our money and the guy she talked to gave her a hard time about going to Cuba) So they were now quizing me to see if I was linked with Damaris because they were not going to give us the money.
I told her that I was going to France and London....so then she was trying to sell me pound. UGH!! Thank God for my husband who LOVES history and has taught me about WWII and the beach of Normany in France....so I able to sound like I was going there.

Long story short up until the last minute...she was still to see if we were going to Cuba. She asked my aunts where were they from and Lili said Mexico and Damaris said here and I was going to say Puerto Rico. LOL!! You had to be there. WHAT'S the BIG DEAL we have Permission to go...

Our Summer Vacation This Year Is To Cuba

I am so excited after years of waiting to go to Cuba to see that land that my family is from and loves so dearly....I GET TO GO. When Jacob was months old my whole family but me went to Cuba for a family vacation. They came back changed and so excited and ready to go back. We tried again to go a couple years later but weeks before our trip President Bush closed all the flights in and out of Cuba...so we had to go to Punta Cana, Dom. Republic. Needless to say I was disappointed.

NOW IT'S finally my turn to go and I am so EXCITED!! We leave July 25 2009....we fly to Mexico City and from there we are flying into Cuba. Mexico City is supposed to be a nicer airport and they treat you better in Cuba if you come from Mexico City vs Maimi.

I'll keep you posted on the Cuba Adventure...............

Walking....

Last night....Benjamin took 2 steps towards me. Only Jacob and I saw him do that....it was exciting...we were screaming telling Jon what Benjamin just did. A little bit later Benjamin was walking his little grocery cart walker and he was walking it and then picking it up to turn it around. The boy will be walking soon.

Why does everyone have to pick out my car?

This morning on my way to work Jacob asked me "Mom, why does everyone have to pick out my car?" I asked him what he was talking about since this was out of the blue. And he told me " Dad wants to buy me to a Honda...but it should be my choice and I want a truck with no backseat.

Viva Las Vegas

Couple weeks back I was sitting at the table with Jacob and Benjamin. I started singing the song Viva Las Vegas. Jacob looked at me and said "mom that's not the words to the song...you are singing it wrong." I asked him to sing me the words. He started singing Viva Viagra. I held my composure and asked him where did he hear that song and he said it was on the t.v. Sunday morning Jon and Jacob watch the Fishing Shows and that's where he got that.

Up to date

Ok...I really need to start blogging!! My kids are so precious and they are doing the cutest and saying the funniest things and I want to remember every bit of it. So...I am going to start thinking about all the funny sweet things that I want to remember up until now....
